SALT LAKE CITY -
The Utah softball team is not only competing in the premier softball conference in the nation as a member of the Pac-12, soon it will be playing in one of the finest softball stadiums in the land. Construction is underway on Ute Softball Stadium, which is scheduled for a December 2012 completion date and will begin hosting games in the spring of 2013. The new softball complex is located north of the McCarthey Family Track and Field.

The $4.5 million dollar project will feature 500 chair seats, a press box, lights, an athletic training room and outdoor batting cages. An indoor hitting and pitching facility will be located adjacent to the competition field.

Head softball coach, Amy Hogue had to say this about the new complex, "I am so thankful that President Pershing, Chris Hill and other University leaders share our vision about the necessity and value of a new softball complex. This facility has been in the formative stages for awhile now and we are thankful to be moving to the second stage of the building process. Our new stadium will be one of the finest in the Pac-12 Conference and will provide our student athletes every opportunity to succeed in the top softball conference in the country."
