• Utah moved to 6-0 all-time in season-openers under head coach
Larry Krystkowiak.
• The Utes won its seventh consecutive season-opener, while moving to 83-26 all-time in season-opening contests.
• The Utes are now 75-13 all-time when opening the season at home.
• This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams. Utah moved to 39-3 all-time against NCAA Division II opponents.
• Utah limited NNU to just 37 points in the game, tying the third-fewest points given up to an opponent since 1980. It is the lowest amount of points given up since yielding just 36 points to Air Force back on Jan. 14, 2009.
• Utah opened the first half shooting just 33 percent (7-of-21) from the field, but then closed out the final 3:56 making 6-of-10 (4-of-last 5) from the field. Utah closed the half shooting 41.9 percent from the field.
• NNU opened the contest making just 4-of-20 through the first 12 minutes of play. The Crusaders shot just 21.2 (7-of-33) percent from the floor in the entire first half.
• Junior
Kyle Kuzma was 5-for-8 from the field (3-of-4 from free throw line) and led all players with 13 points at the break. He registered a double-double in the first half as well, pulling down a team and first half-high 12 rebounds.
• NNU did not score its first point of the second half until the 14:53 mark. The Crusaders put in just its second bucket of the half at the 9:32 mark.
• The Utah defense limited the Crusaders to just a 4-of-34 (.118) effort in the second half. NNU finished the game shooting just .164 percent (11-of-67).
• Kuzma finished the game tying his career-high of 23 points, which he tallied twice last season. His 19 rebounds are a career-high, surpassing the original mark of 12 rebounds he tallied on two occasions last season.
• Kuzma's 19 rebounds are the most for a Utah player since Andrew Bogut notched 20 boards back in 2005.

Jayce Johnson scored eight points and pulled down 14 rebounds in his Utah debut.
• Junior
Tyler Rawson, making his debut for the Utes on Saturday, went 4-of-5 from the field for 13 points and had a team-high two blocked shots.
• Utah out-rebounded the Crusaders 61-37 on the night, which included a 49-27 effort on the defensive boards.
