2010 Utah Invitational Final Results in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

MIDWAY, Utah - Led by a 10th-place finish by Zoe Roy in the women's 15-km freestyle race, the Utah ski team struggled with conditions on the final day of the Utah Invitational before finishing fourth in the overall standings.

Roy had a time of 58:23.5 in the race. Also scoring for the Utes was Marta Larsen in 15th (59:14.6) and Devon Spika in 17th (59:43.0). Rose Kemp and Sarah MacCarthy finished 20th and 21st, respectively, with Kemp finishing in 1:00:13.1 and MacCarthy crossing the line in 1:00.39.3. The final Utah finisher was Karina Smith in 30th (1:06.38.9).

Didrik Smith and Martin Liljemark led Utah in the men's 20-km free race, finishing 11th and 12th, respectively. Smith finished in 1:04:12.7 while Liljemark had a time of 1:04:15.6. Tom Smith was Utah's third scorer in 16th-place (1:05.52.5). Rolf Figi and brothers Ian and Miles Havlick finished 20th through 22nd. Figi had a time of 1:06:37.7, Ian Havlick finished in 1:06:49.4 and Miles Havlick timed in at 1:07:03.4.

"It was tough today," Director of Skiing Eli Brown said. "We could have had better wax. Hats off to the athletes for slugging it out and giving it their best.

"I want to thank all the volunteers for making our home meet go off without a hitch."

New Mexico won the meet with 850 points, followed by Denver (835) and Colorado (821). The Utes finished with 737 points.

The Utes return to the snow on Feb. 5-6 with the New Mexico Invitational.
