The Utes posted three podium finishes as the University of Utah skiing team ended the day in fourth place in the team standings Saturday with 642 points at the Denver Invitational.
Torjus Krogdahl won the men's slalom race with a time of 1:19.22, while Ryan Wilson followed in 10th place at a time of 1:20.92. Eian Sandvik turned in a 17th-place in 1:21.48 to take Utah's final scoring position. Nick Cohee followed with a time of 1:21.56 and Jeremy Elliot placed 24th with a time of 1:22.21.
On the women's side, Eva Huckova claimed second place with a time of 1:34.50. Anna Kocken followed in ninth place at a time of 1:35.01 and Jamie DuPratt was Utah's final scorer in 13th place after crossing the finish line in 1:36.83. Sofia Smith finished 15th in 1:36.83, while Tii-Maria Romar turned in a 28th-place effort at 1:54.72.
In the men's 10k classical race, Miles Havlick turned in a podium finish with a second-place effort in 27:47.9. Rolf Figi was Utah's second scorer with an 11th-place effort in 28:51.5. Tom Smith took 20th in a time of 29:57.8 to complete the Utes' scoring. Ian Havlick followed immediately in 22nd place at 30:04.0.
Maria Graefnings and Sarah MacCarthy took fifth and sixth place, respectively, in the women's 5k classical in Aspen, Colo. Graefnings turned in a time of 16:00.7, while MacCarthy's time was 16:00.9. Rose Kemp finished 13th as Utah's final scorer with a time of 16:35.7. Madeleine Talkington took 19th place with a time of 17:14.4, while Marta Larsen was 24th with a time of 17:24.6. Parker Tyler was the 31st finisher in a time of 18:02.8, while Mali Noyes followed in 33rd at a time of 18:46.3.
Next up for the Utes is the NCAA West Regional/Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Skiing Association Championships Feb. 25-26 at Park City and Soldier Hollow.
