Members of the Utah ski team have had several strong finishes recently.

Mark Engel finished second in the Vail Nor-Am Cup giant slalom race on Dec. 19 with a fourth-place finish in Nor-Am Cup in the slalom on Dec. 18. He was also third in a slalom race in Steamboat Springs, Colo., on Dec. 21.

Chloe Fausa followed up two Nor-Am Cup GS victories with a sixth-place slalom finish on Dec. 17. She also won a slalom race in Steamboat Springs, Colo., on Dec. 22.

Kristiina Rove finished ninth in a Nor-Am Cup slalom race on Dec. 18. She was second in a slalom race in Steamboat Springs on Dec. 21.

At the World University Games, Lauren Samuels finished 25th in the women's slalom while Jaime Dupratt was 30th. Samuels was 12th overall in the ladies combined. In cross country, Noé Bellet finished 13th with France in the men's 4x10-km relay.

Utah opens its 2014 campaign hosting the Pat Miller Invitational, which begins on Jan. 4.
