Crimson Club Announces 2016 Hall of Fame Class


The University of Utah will enshrine five former Ute athletes, one former coach and one team into the Crimson Club Athletics Fund Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 7 at Rice-Eccles Stadium & Tower. The group will also be honored at the Homecoming football game the following day. The 2016 Hall of Fame class includes Shannon Bowles (gymnastics), Jim Giottonini (men's swimming), Kathy Kreiner (women's skiing), Pace Mannion (men's basketball), Pat Miller (ski coach), Kim Smith (women's basketball) and the 1994 Football team.

Utah Athletic Teams Among Pac-12's Best in NCAA APR


The NCAA announced its latest single and multi-year Academic Progress Report (APR) for NCAA Division I schools today and the University of Utah was again near the top of the Pac-12 for APR success. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation of all student-athletes on scholarship, and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.

Utah skiers Roni Remme and Julie Mohagen have had strong results in recent FIS competitions.

Utah Skiing Finishes Third at NCAA Championships


The Utah ski team finished third at the NCAA Championships on Saturday afternoon as the meet concluded with the Nordic classical races. Niklas Persson led Utah with a third-place finish in the 20-km men’s race while Veronika Mayerhofer was Utah’s top finisher in the 15-km women’s race, placing fourth.

Mohagen Wins NCAA Women’s Slalom Championship


Julie Mohagen won the NCAA title in the women’s slalom on Friday evening as the Utah ski team continued at the NCAA Championships. On the men’s side, Endre Bjertness earned All-America honors with a 10th-place finish. After three days of competition, the Utes stand third overall.
