Utah Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to USC

LOS ANGELES, Calif. –  During its second consecutive day of competition, the Utah Women’s Swimming and Diving was bested by USC, 165-116, at the McDonald’s Swim Stadium.

Ellis Walters brough home the Utes only win of the meet by topping the 3-meter dive (281.85). Walters also took third in the 1-meter (222.90). 

The Utes’ freshman class was once again a contributor to the team’s overall success at the meet.

Petra Soininen took third in the 100 fly (57.00) and fourth in the 200 fly (2:06.07), while Paolina Carnevale placed fifth in the 400 IM (4:40.86).

Coming away with third in the 100 back (56.90) was Traycie Swartz, who also claimed fourth in the 100 free (52.74).

Samantha Zuch took fourth in both the 500 free (5:03.82) and the 200 free (1:54.53), while Danielle Caldwell stole the fifth-place slot in the 200 back (2:06.76).

Senior Kayla Buck snagged fifth in the 1000 free (10:45.05) as Treasa Ring placed fourth in the 100 fly (58.70) 

The Ute women will next swim against Cal at Ute Natatorium on Saturday, Oct. 27.
