COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Utah men's and women's swimming and diving teams both fell to Ohio State on Friday. Utah swam very well, but in the end the Buckeyes outstanding diving team proved too much for the Utes. The men and women each lost by a score of 130-111.

The men won 8 of 13 events and had two three-event winners. Jon Larsen was a winner in the 400 Medley Relay (3:21.40), 50 Free (20.66) and the 100 Free (44.89). Cody Rempfer was the other tri-winner with victories in the 400 Medley Relay, the 200 IM (153.5), and the 200 Fly (149.63).

The women were led by Neringa Statkeviciute who won the 200 Free (1:51.42), the 100 Free (51.22) and the 400 Medley Relay (3:33.28) with teammates Loren Sweny, Melissa Young and Chelan McCurry. They won 6 of 13 events.

"I am extremely proud of how we handled ourselves against the Big Ten competition. The men have shown they are a contender, and the women are on the verge of something spectacular," comments Head Coach Michael Litzinger.

Utah will swim against the defending Horizon League champions Wright State on Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m. The men have a record of 2-3 while the women's record is now 5-2.
