SEATTLE, Wash.--The Utah men's and women's swimming teams were defeated by Washington yesterday. The men fell 129-76 and the women 121-75.
Top performances for the Utes included Molly Lauber placing first in the 50 free and second in the 200 breast. Lisa Ripken placed second in both the 1000 and 500 freestyle. Amy Jacobson was third in the 100 and 50 freestyle events and Emily Monroe placed second in the 50 free.
For the men, Johan Nystrom won the 100 and 200 free, James Hooiveld was second in the 50 free and Matt Chamberlain placed second in the 200 fly and third in the 200 IM.
The Utes continue their tour of Washington taking on Puget Sound this afternoon. The women will compete in a tri-meet with Puget Sound and Oregon State.
