SALT LAKE CITY – After dominating the boards in USAFA, Colo., last weekend, Utah men’s swimming and diving heads back to the Cadet Natatorium Friday to face the Falcons at 5 p.m. MT.

“Competing against Air Force is always a fun challenge,” said Utah head coach Greg Winslow. “They are very well coached and often display amazing depth in each event. Our team will be focused and excited as we race against Air Force at 7,250 feet elevation and one of the best home-pool advantages in the country.”

As for the Utah men’s diving team, they will compete at the Cadet Natatorium for the second time in a week.

"We're excited to return to Air Force this week,” said Utah head diving coach Richard Marschner. “It gives us another opportunity to compete against good competition at the facility that will be hosting our NCAA Zone meet. Our familiarity with the pool will certainly help us when we compete there at the zone meet in March."

Utah Utes Update

The Utah men hold a 4-2 dual-meet record this season, while the Ute women are 6-5. This will be the men’s last road meet before wrapping up the regular season with USC at home on Feb. 22. The women will finish their regular-season campaign at Washington State on Feb. 15.

Air Force Diving Invitational

Last weekend, the Ute diving squad topped four of six events at the Air Force Diving Invitational. The Utes raked in 15 top-five finishes between six divers.

Led by Nelson Foo, the Ute men snagged the top three places in the 1-meter, while also grabbing the top-four slots in platform dives with Caleb Herrick in the lead.

Kersten Merry earned a win in the 3-meter for the Utes as freshman Josiah Purss topped the 3-meter.

Utah Men’s Last Time Out

In a combined meet at Ute Natatorium, the Utes took on Denver on Jan. 18. The women blew past the Pioneers by a score of 164-136, but the men were unfortunately topped 166-128.

History Against Air Force

The Utah men faced Air Force twice last season and were victorious in both outings. The Utes slid past the Cadets with scores of 190-164 on Oct. 7, 2011 and 152-148 on Nov. 10, 2011.
