SALT LAKE CITY - Utah swimmers Stina Colleou, Petra Soininen and Kristian Kron will be competing at the Mesa Grand Prix from April 24-26 at the Skyline Aquatic Center in Mesa, Ariz. All three swimmers will be attempting to qualify for the European Championships, held August 13-24 in Berlin.

"It will be an exciting three days in Arizona for three of our swimmers who are trying to make their national teams for this summer's European Championships," Utah head coach Joe Dykstra said. "The Mesa Grand Prix has been designated by the Scandinavian Federations as a chance for U.S. based swimmers from those countries to earn roster spots on their national teams. Representing your home country in international events is a huge honor and hopefully one or more of our swimmers earn the right to do so this week."

Colleou, who recently earned All-America honors in the 200 breast and also holds the school record in the event, will be competing in the 100 and 200 breast. Soininen will be competing in the 100 and 200 fly. She holds the third-fastest time in Utah history in both events. Kron is entered in the 200 and 400 IM as well as the 100 and 200 back. Kron, who holds the school records in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 back, competed at the NCAA Championships.
