Utah Swimming and Diving Signs 19 to National Letters of Intent

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah men's swimming and diving recruiting class has been ranked as the 24th-best recruiting class by CollegeSwimming.com.

Utah has seven incoming swimmers ranked in the top 260 of the CollegeSwimming.com recruit rankings, led by Jack Burton (Ringwood, Hants, Great Britain) at 104th. Niksa Stojkovski (Oslo, Norway) is also in the top 150, ranked 136th, while Peter Kotson (Helena, Mont.) is ranked 172nd. Sean Bloore (Walnut Creek, Calif.), at 221st, Keith Schendel (Seattle, Wash.) at 232nd, Brandon Shreeve (Corvallis, Ore.) at 252nd and Jay Bolinger (Allen, Texas) at 254th round out the top-ranked incoming swimmers for the Utes.

Several incoming swimmers are also ranked among the top recruits in their state. Kotson is the No. 1 ranked recruit in Montana. Shreeve is the third-ranked recruit in Oregon while Brandon Deckard (Mountain View, Ore.) is ranked sixth in the state. Schendel is the fifth-ranked recruit in the state of Washington while Benjamin Scott (Steilacoom, Wash.) is ranked seventh in the state. Austin Phillips (Centennial, Colo.) is the No. 10 recruit in Colorado while Bolinger is 11th in Texas. Bloore is ranked as the 43rd-best recruit in California.

"This class is not only large but loaded with talent," Utah head coach Joe Dykstra said. "They will really elevate the quality of our depth on the men's team, as well as provide some top end speed. Collegeswimming.com didn't even include the whole class in their analysis, so I think that actually keeps us a little under the radar. The addition of Quillan Oak (a transfer from Iowa) really will make a big difference in how this class is perceived."

The men's team signed 12 swimmers for the 2014-15 season: Burton, Stojkovski, Kotson, Bloore, Shreeve, Schendel, Scott, Phillips, Deckard, Bolinger, Chris Taber (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) and Ganem Tebet (Murrieta, Calif.). The team will also be joined by Oak (Detroit Lakes, Minn.), a transfer from Iowa.
