2013-14 Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah swimming and diving team's 2013-14 schedule will be highlighted by Pac-12 Conference competition as well as five different home meets and several competitive non-conference events.

"I am excited to announce our schedule for the season, which I think will lend itself to the betterment of our program," first-year head coach Joe Dykstra said. "We have a great mix of regional rivals like Denver and UNLV, along with most of the Pac-12 schools in the dual season. This will provide us with chances to race some of the toughest teams in the nation while unrested."

After Utah hosts its annual Red and White Alumni Meet on Sept. 28 in Salt Lake City, the Ute women's squad begins its season with a dual meet at Oregon State on Oct. 11 before heading to Hawaii for a scrimmage on Oct. 16 during fall break.

Utah then hosts three consecutive home meets at Ute Natatorium, starting Oct. 19 against Arizona, the Ute women's team will take on Boise State on Oct. 25, before former Mountain West Conference foe UNLV visits Salt Lake City on Nov. 8. The Utes then head east for the Missouri Invitational in Columbia, Mo., Nov. 21-23, and the USA Short Course National in Knoxville, Tenn., on Dec. 5-7.

"Spending fall break training in Hawaii will also really help prepare us for some great mid-season performances at the Missou Invite and USA Short Course Nationals," Dykstra said.

After the new year, Utah continues its Pac-12 schedule against Arizona State on Jan. 5 in Salt Lake City, followed by a pair of women's meets in Los Angeles, at USC (Jan. 10) and UCLA (Jan. 11).

The Utes continue their Deseret First Duel rivalry at BYU on Jan. 24 in Provo before traveling for a dual meet at Denver on Jan. 31 as well as the Air Force Diving Invitational in Colorado Springs Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

The home finale at Ute Natatorium will be held Feb. 8 with a women's meet against Washington State and the men's team will wrap up its regular season on Feb. 22 at USC.

"Ultimately, the season is all about how we do at Pac-12's and NCAA's and I believe strongly that this will be one of the best seasons in Utah Swimming & Diving history," Dykstra said.

The third Pac-12 Women's and Diving Championships will be held Feb. 26-Mar. 1, followed by the Pac-12 Men's Championships Mar. 5-8. Both competitions will be held in the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.

The NCAA postseason begins with the NCAA Zone Diving Championships (Mar. 13-15) in Colorado Springs. The NCAA Women's Championships (Mar. 20-22) will be in the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, while the NCAA Men's Championships (Mar. 27-29) will be held in the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.
