PHEONIX, Ariz. – The College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has ranked the Utah Utes men’s swimming and diving team 20th in the nation in its first NCAA poll of the season after a huge upset over Arizona last weekend.
“It is a tremendous honor and recognition by the CSCAA and my fellow coaches nationally to recognize us as one of the Top 25 programs in the country,” said Utah head coach Joe Dykstra. “The result against Arizona was great, but it is just a beginning to our season. We are humbled by the recognition, but realize we have a lot to work to do to maintain our place consistently amongst the country's best programs. It’s a great start to the season, but we remained focused on our end goals and ambitions.”
Three other Pac-12 men’s programs made the top 25 including Cal (3), Stanford (5) and Arizona (23). Michigan took the No. 1 ranking.
The Utah men will face Mesa State tomorrow, Oct. 25 at Ute Natatorium at 3 p.m., while the Utah women will see Boise State simultaneously.
