SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah diver, Andrew Jones was named Mountain West Conference Men's Diver of the Week on Wednesday, November 8, for the second consecutive week. Also for Utah, Alison McInturff was named MWC Women's Swimmer of the Week.
Jones, a Salt Lake City native, won both diving events against UNLV to extend his winning streak to four events. The senior scored 280.10 on the one-meter dive and followed that with a 311.30 in the three-meter event.
McInturff posted the top times in the conference this season with a 1:51.62 in the 200 freestyle and a 2:05.56 in the 200 individual medley en route to winning three events against UNLV Saturday. Her 52.31 winning time in the 100 freestyle was just one-thousandth of a second off her MWC best time this season (52.30 against Denver on Oct. 27).
The Ute men will be in action on Friday, November 10, at the Purdue Invitational. The women's team will visit San Diego State on Saturday, November 11.
