SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah track and field team had nine student-athletes named to the 2014 Pac-12 All-Academic team today. Senior Rosalie Waller earned first-team honors while three student-athletes received second-team status and five 14 others garnered honorable mention.

Waller (3.99, Biomedical Engineering) earned first-team honors for a third year in a row from the Pac-12, while junior Nicole Rietz (3.87, Exercise and Sport Science) grabbed second-team honors for a second-consecutive season.

Rebekah Winterton (3.72, Business Administration) was named to the second team after being honorably mentioned in 2012 and '13. Nikkie Rudder (3.67, Exercise and Sports Science) was also selected to the second team after earning honorable mention status in 2012.

Andrea Chavez and Susannah Hurst were both honorably mentioned for a second year in a row as Suzie Vozarova earned her second honorable mention after being honored in 2012. Allison Aafedt and AuraLea Fain both received their first Pac-12 academic honors after also being honorably mentioned.



To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participate in over 50 percent of the team's events.
