Rosalie Waller set a school record and advanced to the semifinals at the USA Track and Field Championships

SALT LAKE CITY - Utah track and field's Rosalie Waller qualified for the semifinals of the 800m by setting a new school record at the USA Track and Field Championships this evening in Sacramento, Calif.
In the ultra-competitive third heat, Waller placed third with a time of 2:03.27 to qualify for the semifinals tomorrow evening. Earlier this season, Waller set the school record in the 800m with a time of 2:04.71 at the Drake Relays.
Waller recently earned honorable mention All-American status in the 800 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. At the NCAA Preliminaries in Fayetteville, Ark., she placed third in the quarterfinals with a time of 2:04.76. She also finished second at the Pac-12 Championships in Pullman, Wash. (2:07.20).
Tomorrow, all three Utah competitors will be in action. Stephanie Jolley gets things underway in the 400m hurdles at 4 p.m. PT. Amanda Mergaert will race in the 1500m at 7:03 p.m. PT and Waller will take part in the 800m semifinals at 8:09 p.m. PT. Both Mergaert's and Waller's races will be televised live on the NBC Sports Network.
