TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -
The Utah cross country finished 37th at the 2013 NCAA Pre Nationals. Junior Rebekah Winterton led the way with a 56th-place finish.
"Overall it was an average day," Utah head coach Kyle Kepler said. "We ran well in spots, but have some places we need to get better. We beat four teams that are ranked ahead of us in our region, so we feel good about that. We need to get out better, we will work on that before the conference meet."
The Utes opened up the day with runners competing in the six-kilometer blue race. Leading the group was junior Rebekah Winterton crossing the line 56th in a time of 21:05.29. Susannah Hurst was the second Ute to cross the finish, posting a time of 21:29.54 for 101st place. Winterton and Hurst passed a combined 91 runners coming down the final leg of the race.

The Utes will compete next on Nov. 2 at the Pac-12 Championships in Boulder, Colo.
