June 25, 2008

SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah track and field and cross country standout Lauren Endersen has been named a third-team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Endersen, who owns a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade-point average in biology, hit her peak during the outdoor season when she won the 10,000m and earned all-conference honors at the Mountain West Conference Championship. In addition to scoring in two events at the MWC Indoor Championship (the 5,000m and the 3,000m), she was also one of the top runners on Utah's cross country team this year.

This honor comes on the heels of winning Academic all-Mountain West Conference accolades and the Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete Award.
