SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah women’s cross country team had seven student-athletes earn Pac-12 Conference All-Academic honors. Junior Katelyn Stringfellow and sophomore Nikki Reitz both were named to the All-Academic Second-Team for their achievements.

“This is a well deserved honor for these individuals,” Utah head coach Kyle Kepler said. “They work hard on a daily basis to be as successful as possible in and out of the classroom.  They take full advantage of the resources that they are provided by the athletics department and the university, which requires a lot of time and effort beyond going to class on their part.  We are proud of them for representing our program, the university, and themselves in such a positive way.”

Throughout the season, Stringfellow and Rietz have continually performed well both on the race course and in the classroom. Stringfellow, a Mathematics major, earned second-team honors for her 3.71 GPA. Pursuing a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, Rietz posted a 3.96 GPA to earn second-team accolades.

Earning honorable mention recognition were Megan Combe, Susannah Hurst, Amanda Mergaert, Lauren Mills, and Hilary Troutner.
