Giselle Slotboom earns a spot on Dutch National Team.

TILBURG, Netherlands- Sophomore Giselle Slotboom of the University of Utah cross country qualified for the Dutch National Team and will represent the Netherlands at the European Cross Country Championships on Dec. 9 in Budapest, Hungary.
“Giselle was pleased with her performance and excited to be selected for the Dutch National Team,” Utah head coach Kyle Kepler said. “It is a huge honor for her to be able to represent her country at the European Championships. Her teammates here at Utah are all very proud of Giselle and excited to follow her race in two weeks.”
Qualifying for the national team, Slotboom was the sixth Dutch runner and 34th overall to finish at the International Warandecross Tilburg race on Nov. 25. The 8.1-kilometer course featured muddy, sandy and windy conditions with several top European junior (under 23) and senior (23 and older) competitors. However, Slotboom was able clock a 30:56 to secure a spot in the European Cross Country Championships.
