Utah Cross Country Receives National Attention


The University of Utah women's cross country team garnered some national attention this week after its impressive performance last Friday at the Joe Pianne Notre Dame Invitational. The Utes jumped three spots in the Mountain Region poll to rank 4th and received 21 votes in the National Coaches' Poll, which is the most Utah has received in head coach Kyle Kepler's tenure.

In its first big test of the season competing with several nationally-ranked teams, the University of Utah women's cross country captured fifth place with 164 team points. Sophomores Sarah Feeny and Hannah McInturff led the way for the Utes, recording top-10 performances.

Utah Cross Country Prepares for First Big Test at Notre Dame Invitational


Coming off a bye week, the University of Utah women's cross country team is ready for its first big challenge of the 2015 season as it heads to South Bend, Ind., to compete at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday. The Utes will send their top 15 runners to compete, nine in the seeded race and six in the open race. The women's blue division seeded 5-km race is slated to begin at 2 p.m. followed by the gold division open race at 4:15 p.m. EST.

With three meets of the 2015 season under their belts, Utah head cross country coach Kyle Kepler is pleased with the early progression of the team.

Utah Cross Country Earns First at Montana State Invitational


Continuing a successful 2015 cross country season, senior Susannah Hurst Spencer led the Utes at the Montana State Invitational with another top-five performance. Overall, the Utes claimed five of the top-ten spots en route to a first-place finish.
