SALT LAKE CITY - A two-RBI RBI single from Jo Jo Sharrar lifted the Utah baseball team to a 4-3 extra-inning win over Oregon State on Saturday afternoon.

Oregon State broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the 11th inning with a two-out RBI single from Max Gordon, scoring pinch-runner Ryan Dettman. Although OSU would load the bases, reliever Nick Green got Michael Conforto to strike out and end the inning.

In the bottom of the 11th, Tyler Relf and Parker Morin hit back-to-back singles to start off the inning. Both moved over on a sacrifice bunt from Shaun Cooper. Trey Nielsen was intentionally walked to load the bases before Sharrar hit a single through the right side that just got past diving second baseman John Tommasini and scored Relf and Morin, giving the Utes the win.

Morin had two hits to lead Utah at the plate. Green earned his first career win on the mound after entering in the 11th inning. Joe Pond earned the start, allowing two runs and five hits over six innings with three strikeouts. Tyler Wagner threw four innings and allowed one run on five hits. Kesley Kondo also pitched part of the seventh inning.

"Joe Pond set the tone for us today," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "That was as good as he has been in awhile for us. Our guys hung in there and in the last inning every guy was clutch all the way through from Relf to Jo Jo. Great win for us."

Oregon State (31-17, 12-11 Pac-12) struck first with a run in the second inning. Ryan Dunn walked to lead off the inning, moving to third after Kalvin Keyes doubled to right center before scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Danny Hayes.

The Utes (13-34, 7-19 Pac-12) got on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Nielsen scored on a Cory Hunt single after walking to lead off the inning. Utah would leave the bases loaded.

The Beavers took the lead in the seventh, with Hayes scoring on a sacrifice fly after leading off the inning with a double. Utah scored the equalizer in the eighth on an RBI double by Morin to score Relf.

OSU had two hits in the 10th inning but Utah got out of the inning with the help of a heads-up play and catching Conforto between bases.

Oregon State starter Jace Fry pitched nine innings, allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts. Tony Bryant got the loss after entering in the 10th inning. OSU out-hit Utah 10-7.
