Salt Lake City - The University of Utah baseball team dropped the second game of a three-game series to Air Force Saturday at the Salt Lake Community College Cate Field. The Utes were out-hit 15-9 in the 12-3 loss.

Senior Matt Crockett suffered the loss on the mound, giving up eight runs and walking three batters.

Air Force opened the third inning with a single from Reid Lamson. Dustin Smith and Nathan DeRohan bunted to load the bases for Dale Kasel, who hit a grand-slam home run that gave the Falcons a 4-0 lead.

Utah came right back in the bottom when senior Doug Beck and junior Joe Mozeleski scored on a double hit by senior Trevor Eastman.

The Falcons added to the lead in the sixth when DeRohan hit a three-run homer.

Doug Beck finished the day 2 for 3 with one run and one RBI, while Trevor Eastman was 1 for 4 with two RBIs.

Utah and Air Force close out the series at noon tomorrow, May 15 at Salt Lake Community Cate Field.
