Utah ends its season with a 21-31 record, going 7-23 in the Pac-12.

"We really did a good job coming out and playing the game correctly," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We were very aggressive at the plate, got leadoff guys on, and were able to really do some things offensively today. Tanner gave us five really good innings, and Luke closed it out, and we made some great plays defensively. Tyler Relf and Connor Eppard really came to play in their last games. It was a complete game. That's a good team that we beat. Hopefully [Oregon] will go a long way over the next few weeks. I am really proud of our club - that was a good way to close it out."

Oregon led 1-0 through the first three innings after putting a run on the board in the first inning after a leadoff walk led to a run scored on an error with two outs. Although Utah threatened several times in the early innings, the Ducks were able to get out of several jams. The Utes tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning. With Trey Nielsen on base, Bennett hit an infield single after a miscommunication led to no one covering first base. Relf hit a bloop single to score Nielsen.

Oregon added two runs in the top of the fifth on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single, giving the Ducks a 3-1 lead.

The Utes took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth, which began when Anderson hit a blooper into left field for a double after the ball skipped past the left fielder attempting to make a diving play. Eppard hit a deep infield single up the middle, setting up an RBI single for Carroll to tie the game at 3-3. Nielsen got a bunt down and although Oregon tried to make a play at third, turned back and made a wild throw to first for an error that allowed two runs to score and give Utah the lead. Relf kept the scoring barrage going with an RBI single through the left side, giving Utah a 5-3 lead.

The Utes continue to add to its lead as the game continued. Scaggari scored on a ground out in the sixth inning after a ground out from Carroll. Utah scored three runs in the seventh inning on RBI hits from Scaggari and Anderson. Relf hit an RBI double to deep left field in the eighth inning.

The contest ends the careers of seniors Joe Pond, Relf, Eppard and Chase Rezac.
