SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team hosts its first midweek game of the season on Tuesday, March 19, against Utah Valley at 6:00 p.m. MT.

The team will hold a post-game autograph session after the game.

"It's another chance to for us to get more experience and get guys in ball games and get ready for the weekend," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "It's important for us to play at home and get used to our ball park."

Utah will be looking to get back in the win column after struggling in its Pac-12 opener against California last weekend.

"Two things that are hurting us right now are injuries and youth," Kinneberg said. "With five or six freshmen on the field at one time, they are getting their feet wet and learning what it's like to play in this league. It's a good thing."

Chase Rezac will make his second start of the year on the mound for the Utes.

Utah Valley is 9-11 on the year. The Wolverines won two of three from Saint Mary's over the weekend.

In the last meeting between the two teams last season, Utah snapped Utah Valley's 32-game win streak with an 11-10 victory.

Utah continues in Pac-12 play this weekend against Stanford, with the three-game series beginning on Friday, March 22, at 7:00 p.m. PT.
