SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team travels to 12th-ranked Oregon, continuing in Pac-12 play with a three-game series in Eugene against the Ducks. The series opens on Friday, March 21, at 6:00 p.m. PT and continues on Saturday, March 22, at 2:00 p.m. PT and Sunday, March 23, at 12:00 p.m. PT.
The Utes are coming off a 7-3 come-from-behind win over Utah Valley for their first home win of the season. AJ Young went 3-for-3 at the plate while Dylan Drachler struck out eight of the 11 batters he faced in relief on the mound.
The Utes will be looking to rebound this weekend after dropping three games in their Pac-12 opener last weekend to fourth-ranked Oregon State.
"We have another series against an outstanding team that can really pitch," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We're looking forward to the challenge against a great team in a great stadium. It should be a great atmosphere."
Oregon is ranked 12th in the latest Baseball America poll. The Ducks are 14-5 overall and recently won two of three against USC in their conference opener last weekend.
Junior Mitch Watrous will get the start on the mound on Friday, while senior Zach Adams will make his first start of the season on Saturday. Sophomore Bret Helton gets the start for the Utes on Sunday.
