SALT LAKE CITY - Utah continues in Pac-12 play this weekend against Stanford, with the three-game series beginning on Friday, March 22, at 7:00 p.m. PT. The Utes play on Saturday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m. PT followed by Sunday, March 24, at 1:00 p.m. PT.

Utah is coming off an extra-inning win over Utah Valley on Tuesday, 3-2.

Stanford is 10-5 on the year. The Cardinal last played nearly two weeks ago and was swept by UNLV in a three-game series. Prior to that the team had won nine straight. Friday starter Mark Appel was selected eighth overall in the 2012 MLB Draft, but decided to return for his senior season.

"We're looking forward to playing a really good team this weekend," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "Facing Mark Appel is going to be a fun challenge for our guys."

Utah will start Mitch Watrous on the mound on Friday, followed by Joe Pond on Saturday and Dalton Carroll on Sunday.
