SALT LAKE CITY - After two weekends on the road, the Utah baseball team returns to Smith's Ballpark this weekend for a three-game series with Arizona, beginning on Friday, April 4, at 12:00 p.m. MT. The series continues on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, with both games at noon MT.
Spend your lunch at the ballpark with a special deal, receiving admission, a hot dog, chips and a drink for the matinee game for $7 at the Smith's Ballpark box office. Fans wearing black also have the option of free admission on Friday as part of Utah's 'Black Friday' promotion.
The Utes have dropped their last seven games, with four of those losses coming by one run, and two losses by two runs.
"We've got to get over the hump," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We need to make the play when it happens and get that extra run in when we have the opportunity. This weekend was disappointing because we had those chances. We're hanging in there, guys are playing hard, and they are still fighting, so we'll regroup this weekend. We're at home again, so we'll tee it up on Friday."
Arizona, which won the 2012 College World Series, is 12-18 this season with a 2-7 record against the Pac-12. The Wildcats recently won one of three against seventh-ranked Oregon State over the weekend, and have dropped nine of their last 10 games.
