SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team returns to the road this weekend for a three-game series against USC, beginning on Friday, April 11, at 6:00 p.m. PT. The series continues on Saturday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. PT, and Sunday, April 13, at 1:00 p.m. PT.
Utah (10-19, 1-10 Pac-12) picked up its first Pac-12 win against Arizona over the weekend, winning game one after an eighth-inning grand slam from TJ Bennett. Utah fell in 10 innings in game two, 6-1, before dropping game three, 5-2, after struggling with errors.
The Utes continue to struggle with timely hitting.
"We are back on the road this weekend against a very good team," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We're going to have to get more production out of our offense and score more runs. Our pitching and defense are playing well enough to win some games. We need to be able to score runs, and that's been a problem for us for the last four weeks. Somehow, some way, we've got to find a way to get that key hit."
USC is 15-15 overall and 4-8 in the Pac-12. The Trojans dropped two of three to Arizona State over the weekend. USC plays Pepperdine on Tuesday before facing the Utes.
