SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team continues its series against BYU in Provo on Tuesday, April 9, at 6:00 p.m. MT.
Utah and BYU play four times this season. The series winner will receive three points in the Deseret First Duel rivalry series between the two schools.
Utah won the first game of the series on March 26, 5-4 in 10 innings. Utah led 1-0 most of the game after scoring a run in the fifth inning before BYU rallied in the top of the ninth to score four runs and take a 4-1 lead. The Utes came back to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth, 4-4, before TJ Bennett hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning to score Dallas Carroll for the game-winning run.
"I'm anxious to get back on the field and get both Tanner and Trey innings," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "It's always a competitive game against BYU, so I don't expect anything less. It'll be a hard-fought ball game."
Utah (14-14, 4-8 Pac-12) took two out of three games from Washington State over the weekend for its second Pac-12 series win of the season. With 14 victories, Utah has matched its wins total from last season.
BYU is 17-14 and 5-4 in the West Coast Conference. The Cougars have won six of their last seven games, sweeping Santa Clara last weekend.
