SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team begins a four-game home stand with a Tuesday, April 24 game against Southern Utah. First pitch is at 6:00 p.m.

The Utes (10-28) struggled over the weekend against Cal, dropping three games to the Bears. Notable performances included five hits from Trey Nielsen, who had three doubles during the weekend. Cory Hunt, who recently returned from an injury, had four hits.

Southern Utah is 13-25 overall, winning four of its last five games. The Thunderbirds won three of four from IPFW over the weekend.

The contest will be the final game between the two schools, as SUU will discontinue its baseball program following the season.

The Utes will start junior Tanner Tripp on the mound on Tuesday.

Utah continues at home this weekend with a three-game series against Washington, beginning on Friday, April 27.

"It's nice to be home for the next four games," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We have some exciting home games coming up in the next few weeks with Oregon State and Stanford coming in."
