SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team plays its final midweek game of the season against Utah Valley in Orem on Tuesday, May 15, at 6:00 p.m. MT.
The Utes (13-35) had a strong weekend against Oregon State, winning one of three in three one-run games and two extra-inning contests. In game one, Utah rallied from a nine-run deficit before falling 11-10. In game two, Oregon State broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the 11th inning before the Utes rallied in the bottom of the 11th, as Jo Jo Sharrar hit a bases-loaded single to lift Utah to a 4-3 win. The Utes lost a late lead in game three, with Oregon State scoring in the 9th and 10th innings for the 5-4 victory.
Utah Valley (39-11) is riding a nation-leading 32-game winning streak.
Blake Golding will get his first career start on the mound for the Utes against Utah Valley.
The Utes finish their Pac-12 schedule this weekend against Stanford. The Cardinal is ranked 17th in the latest Baseball America poll and 11th by the Baseball Writers Association.
