SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team hosts Stanford to close out the regular season with the three-game series beginning on Friday, May 23 and continuing on Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25. All three games will begin at noon, and Saturday's game will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks.
"We will be looking to end our season strong," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "This is the last weekend for our seniors, and we want to have a great weekend for them."
Utah will celebrate seniors Zach Adams, Braden Anderson, Konnor Armijo, Tanner Banks, TJ Bennett, Josh Chapman, Nick Green, Cory Hunt, Tyler Yagi, Ben Mordini and Luke West in a pregame ceremony before Saturday's game.
Spend your lunch at the ballpark on Friday with a special deal, receiving admission, a hot dog, chips and a drink for the matinee game for $7 at the Smith's Ballpark box office. Fans wearing black also have the option of free admission on Friday as part of Utah's 'Black Friday' promotion.
Friday is 'Water Day' with a splash zone with water games. Saturday is 'Hero Day' with all military, firefighters, police and service men and women receiving free admission with a valid ID. The Utes will host a tailgate in the parking lot west of the ballpark starting at 6:00 a.m. Tailgaters will receive free admission to the game as well as a free gift.
The Utes (16-33, 4-23 Pac-12) went 1-4 last week, beating BYU and dropping three games to Arizona State.
Stanford is 26-23 and 13-14 in the Pac-12. The Cardinal won two of three against Washington State over the weekend, and play Pacific on Monday evening before facing the Utes during the weekend.
