WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Utah sophomore pitcher Mitch Watrous was an honorable mention selection to the All-Pac-12 baseball team, as selected by the conference coaches.

Watrous went 4-4 this season with a 2.81 ERA and 64 strikeouts. After serving as a relief pitcher the first three weeks of the season and recording two saves, he moved into the role of Utah's Friday starter for the remainder of the year.

Watrous started and earned the win in both of Utah's shutouts this season. He pitched a complete-game two-hitter in Utah's 1-0 win against Kansas, and earned the victory in Utah's 10-0 win over USC. In his first start of the season against Saint Mary's, he tied the school record with 12 strikeouts. Watrous held third-ranked Oregon State to one run on four hits with five strikeouts in a 1-0 loss.

Watrous is fourth in the Pac-12 in fewest doubles allowed (7) and ranks sixth in batters struck out looking (23). In Pac-12 games, he is tied for eighth in the league with 46 strikeouts.

Utah finished its season 21-31 with a 7-23 Pac-12 record.
