RADIO: The Providence game will be broadcast live on KALL RADIO (910) AM. BILL MARCROFT will call the play-by-play with JEFF JONAS doing color. BRAD STONE handles pre and post-game show duties. Stations on the network are KOAL (Price), KSGI AM (St. George), KZEZ FM (St. George) and KVEL (Vernal).

TV: The Providence game will be televised nationally on ESPN. BRAD NESSLER will call the school single game record for field goal percentage. He hit his first three shots against UC Irvine to set a school record for consecutive field goals made with 13. In the last two games Hanno has gone 17-19 from the field. He is the leading Ute scorer averaging 18.0 points per game. He is shooting .641 from the field on the season. Twice this season he has scored a career-high 25 points (Weber State and Loyola Marymount).

SERIES RECORD VS. PROVIDENCE: The series is tied 1-1. Last meeting was in 1990 at Providence with the Friars taking a 78-67 win. The first meeting between the teams took place in 1988 in Salt Lake City with the Utes coming away with an 86-62 victory.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS: Providence is 2-0 on the season with a Sunday, Nov. 30 game against Boston College ... they have wins over Vermont (67-63) and Brown (67-33) ...forward JAMAL THOMAS (6-6, Jr.) is the top Friar scorer after two games averaging 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Guard JOHN LINEHAN (5-9, Fr.) is scoring 11.5 points per game. Top rebounder is forward BEN PERKINS (6-7, Fr.) who is averaging 11.5 rebounds per game and 8.5 points ... Providence lost to eventual NCAA Champion Arizona, 96-92 in overtime in last years Elite Eight ...

HANNO MOTTOLA continued his hot shooting scoring 16 points while ANDRE MILLER added 10 points ... DAVID JACKSON started his first game of the season in place of DREW HANSEN who sprained his knee Thursday in practice. Jackson had 9 points and 4 assists ... Utes shot .627 from the field and held the Anteaters to just .319 shooting from the floor ... Utah out rebounded UCI 36-19.

MAJERUS' MARK: Ute coach RICK MAJERUS went into the season as the 14th winningest active coach in the country ... has posted a 185-55 (.771) record in his ninth season at Utah ... is in his 14th year as a major college head coach and has a career record of 284-107 (.727) ... is the winningest Utah basketball coach in modern times. UTE INJURIES: Freshman BRITTON JOHNSEN has been out of action for the last four weeks with patella tendinitis in his left knee. He is expected to be out until around the end of December ... DREW HANSEN sprained his right knee in Thursday's practice and missed the Irvine game. He is listed as probable for Providence.
