RICK'S REMARKS: ON THE UTES: " We are defending very well, we are trying to develop an offensive identity and we are searching for rotations and substitution patterns. I think coming out of exam week my biggest fear is that we will not have a practice where everyone is there until Friday in Oregon. The exam week game is going to be a very difficult game for us, but we are very much looking forward to this trip. It's such a wonderful opportunity to go and play a PAC-10 team in the Rose Garden. For Michael Doleac and David Jackson to get home is something special." ...

ON OREGON STATE: "Oregon State is very well coached. I love the coach's enthusiasm and how hard they play. They play defense with great tenacity and they play you over the whole court. They press and they trap and they push the ball at every opportunity. You have to defend the three and you have to defend the open court. They are a good rebounding team with probably a lotto pick in Corey Benjamin. I feel they have an excellent young club with a good blend of veterans."

UTE NOTES: Utah plays just one more game in December. After the Oregon State game the Utes hit the road for Wisconsin to face Wisconsin-Milwaukee in a Dec. 27 game. That game will be televised live on KJZZ-TV ... Freshman BRITTON JOHNSEN made is debut against Asuza Pacific after missing the first eight games with patella tendinitis in his left knee. The 6-9, Johnson had 7 points and 7 rebounds in 11 minutes ... MICHAEL DOLEAC and DAVID JACKSON, who are both from Portland, will both get a chance to play in front of the hometown crowd when the Utes play in the Rose Garden. Doleac attended Central Catholic High School while Jackson prepped at Woodrow Wilson ... the Utes are one of three unbeaten teams in the WAC. TCU is also 9-0 and SMU goes into the week 6-0.
