Utah Radio and TV Network

For the past 46 years, KALL radio has broadcast Utah football and basketball games. KALL broadcasts Ute athletic events on AM (910). The stations on the Utah Sports Network blanket the state. Stations on the network are: KOAL (Price), KSGI/KZEZ FM (St. George/Cedar City), KVEL (Vernal), KTLE (Tooele), KUTA (Blanding). KJZZ television's emergence on the Ute athletics scene is much more recent, but equally impressive. KJZZ and the Utes recently signed a five-year contract to insure one of the top sports partnerships in the state continues.

KALL is in its final year of a three-year contract with the Utes signed in 1995. Terms of the contract have KALL broadcasting all Ute football and men's basketball games as well as numerous regular season women's basketball games (and any WAC and NCAA Tournament games). All KALL broadcasts of Ute men's basketball will be on the Internet.

Bill Marcroft, the "Voice of the Utes," will retain his play-by-play duties for the 29th year. Marcroft is joined in the booth, at basketball games, by former Ute point guard Jeff Jonas.

Pre-game, halftime and post-game shows on KALL are hosted by Brad Stone. Utah media relations director Bruce Woodbury joins the pre-game show each week, hosting the "Crimson Corner"--a feature on Ute sports other than football and men's basketball. Assistant coach Jeff Judkins joins Jonas for the post-game "JJ" Show which gives a complete wrap up of what happened in that night's game.

Utah's television partner KJZZ is also the flagship station of the National Basketball Association's Utah Jazz. The contract calls for the broadcast of all away football and men's basketball games (except when preempted by an instate team's station or network television). Select home games are also televised by KJZZ. In addition, KJZZ produces the weekly coaches shows, and offers select broadcasts of U. women's basketball, gymnastics and other events. KJZZ TV, affiliated with the United Paramount Network, broadcasts its programming on channel 14 and TCI 3.

Some of the best talent available calls the games for KJZZ. Longtime sportscaster Steve Brown calls the play-by-play while Utah Jazz President, and former coach, Frank Layden uses his expertise to handle color commentary.
