-Senior guard Josh "Jiggy" Watkins finished with a team-high 15 points, hitting double figures for the 14th time in 16 games this year, the 19th time in his last 21 games going back to last year and the 38th time in 47 career games as a Ute. Watkins also led the team in assists with three, while adding a steal.
-With two blocks in the game, junior center Jason Washburn moved into the top 10 at Utah with 77 career blocks. He finished the game with nine points and a team-high five rebounds.
-Freshman forward George Matthews hit his first career 3-pointer.
-Utah tied its season low of six assists, while allowing California to rack up 24 assists, the most by any Ute opponent this season. Cal shot 59.2% from the field, also a Utah opponent season best.
-The game marked the first match-up between Cal head coach Mike Montgomery and Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak, who played for Montgomery at Montana from 1982-86.
