LAS VEGAS (AP) - Jarred DuBois scored 21 points and hit a tying three-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation, Jordan Loveridge scored eight of his 20 points in overtime, and Utah upset second-seeded California 79-69 in the Pac-12 tournament quarterfinals Friday night.

The 10th-seeded Utes trailed 59-56 in regulation after Allen Crabbe hit two free throws, but Utah worked the ball around to DuBois, who hit a contested three-pointer with four seconds left to tie the game.

Jason Washburn had 18 points for Utah, along with five rebounds. Brandon Taylor added 10 for the Runnin' Utes. Justin Cobbs had 26 points and Crabbe finished with 21 for the Golden Bears.

After not cracking the 50-point plateau in three of four games since joining the league, Utah shot 47 percent against Cal and scored its most points ever against a Pac-12 foe.

DuBois scored eight-consecutive points at the onset as the Utes grabbed a 10-6 lead and forced an early Cal timeout. The Runnin' Utes lead grew to as many as seven and they held the edge until 4:31 to go in the half when Cobbs converted a layup to push Cal in front.

The lead went back and forth during the final minutes and Cal led 33-32 at the break. Utah shot a blistering 54 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes. DuBois scored 15 points in the second half against USC and was still hot in the first half against Cal, scoring 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting.

With the score tied 36-36, Cal went on an 8-0 run while Utah did not score for over six minutes. That streak was snapped when Taylor drove to the bucket and completed a traditional three-point play at the 11:30 mark.

Trailing 48-44, Loveridge knocked down consecutive three-pointers to give Utah the lead once more with 6:33 to go in regulation. After Cal took a 52-50 lead, Jeremy Olsen converted inside to trim the gap to one. However, Cobbs drilled a three-pointer on the next possession to push the margin back to four.

After a timeout, Washburn rebounded a miss and scored to get Utah within two. On the other end, Allen Crabbe rebounded a miss, was fouled and made one of two at the line. DuBois came down the floor, missed and the rebound kicked out to Loveridge. The freshman was fouled beyond the arc and made two.

After the third try rimmed in and out, Crabbe was fouled. The Pac-12 Player of the Year made both but DuBois canned a cold-blooded three to send the game to overtime.

Utah will play Oregon tomorrow night in the Pac-12 semifinals at 9:30 MT. The game will be televised on ESPN and you can listen to the contest on ESPN 700.
