Utah Head Coach Jim Boylen
"I have a lot of respect for Utah State and their toughness. They played the game the right way. I think because of that and the respect I have for them, this is a big win for our young team and program. It is a rivalry game and you know how I love rivalry games. I thought we fought back and I thought we grew up a lot since Friday. Every day we have to grow and get better and learn. I thought we got a little frantic offensively in the middle of the first half. We were up and we just stopped trusting for a little bit. We got a little sped up...Carlon (Brown) wants to lead and do it, Luka (Drca) wants to lead and do it, Kim (Tillie) wants to lead and do it. We have to play together. I think in the second half we trusted defensively and offensively and came out with a big win."
"At the half we talked a lot about sharing and trust. I know you get sick of hearing it, but that is what the game is about to me: trust. I think we did a lot better in the second half with that."
"We have a thing in our locker room: PPTPW - Players Play, Tough Players Win. That is what Luka (Drca) is, he is a tough nut."
Utah junior guard Carlon Brown:
"I think all good players feel that they can make big shots at big moments. I happened to make some key and crucial shots this game to help our team to victory. In the summer we play pick-up games and when it is 9-8, I want to make that three for the win."
"Everybody told me I couldn't do it (shoot from the outside), so I wanted to come out this summer and focus on it. I shot 11,000 and made 7,000 of the threes, so it was a key thing for me to put into my game."
Utah State Head Coach Stew Morrill:
"I thought the key stretch was when we were up seven and then in a five-minute stretch we go without scoring and we would still come back to take the lead. That was a little tough to swallow. Give them credit, they found a way to win and we also found a way to give it away. We had a bunch of turnovers and a lot of wide open shots that we didn't make."
"What is most disappointing to me is that we didn't play like a veteran team. We played really hard but we didn't play very smart. It feels like - in all respect to Utah - it looks like we gave up. They made some big shots. But from our end of the net it looked like we served them the game, because we didn't play smart."
"We looked like an inexperienced team, and we gave them the ball a couple of times. We made a bad decision on the break twice. They are big and they have some real good players. They were playing hard and they had good defense but our turnovers killed us."
