SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Michael Doleac had 18 points and nine rebounds and Hanno Mottola added 14 points as No. 5 Utah beat Brigham Young 83-68 Thursday night.
The Runnin' Utes barely broke a sweat in defeating their arch-rivals for the seventh straight time, going ahead 41-31 at halftime and putting the game out of reach early in the second half with a 14-3 run.
Utah (19-1, 7-1 Western Athletic Conference) has won 33 of its last 35 games, while BYU (6-16, 1-7 WAC) has lost six straight by an average of 13 points.
Mekeli Wesley scored 28 points to lead BYU, hitting all 11 of his free throws. Ron Selleaze added 11 points for the Cougars before fouling out.
Fifty-four personal fouls were called on the same day WAC officials were criticized by conference commissioner Karl Benson for inconsistent work. The two teams shot a combined 75 free throws.
Andre Miller added 13 points for Utah, which coasted after runs of 14-3 and 16-6.
Rick Majerus won his 199th game at Utah and his 298th as a Division I head coach.
