Utah vs. UCLA - Quick Hits
• A big part of Utah's success this season has been its team defense. The Utes (57.2 ppg) are allowing nine points less than the national average (66.3).

• Utah also ranks seventh nationally in opponents field goal percentage (35.4%) and 23rd in opponents two-point field goal percentage (41.2%). Last season the Utes ranked 321st and 299th respectively in both categories.

• Offensively, Utah is second in the Pac-12 with an average of 1.12 points per shot. The Utes also rank 11th nationally, tops in the Pac-12, in assisted basket percentage (65.0%) and eighth nationally at the stripe (76.9%)

• Utah dropped its first two Pac-12 games in gut-wrenching fashion, falling 55-54 in overtime at Arizona State and 60-57 at No. 3 Arizona. Utah's six losses this season have been by a combined 22 points (3.7 per game margin).

• UCLA has won seven in a row after capturing its first two games in league play at home against Cal, 79-65, and Stanford, 68-60.

• The Bruins are led by freshman Shabazz Muhammad, second in the league in scoring at 19.6 points per game, and rank fifth in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio thanks to senior Larry Drew II's 8.5 helpers per game.

Last Time Out
Jason Washburn finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for his second-consecutive double-double and Utah missed a last-second shot to tie the game as it fell at No. 3 Arizona, 60-57.

The Utes made 14 of 27 field-goal tries in the second half, shooting 52 percent to get back in a game it trailed by double figures.

Jordan Loveridge also scored 17 points for Utah and grabbed four rebounds while Jarred DuBois added 12 points.

Washburn Working Way Up Charts
Washburn had one of the strongest weeks by a Ute since joining the Pac-12. The senior scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed a career-best 18 rebounds in the loss to the Sun Devils. He also blocked a season-best four shot Sun Devil shot attempts.

He followed that with his second double-double of the season (17 points, 11 rebounds) against No. 3 Arizona. In the contest against the Wildcats, Washburn also took and connected on his first three-point try of the season

He currently leads the league in rebounding and ranks sixth in scoring and second in blocks during conference play. Washburn would rank 15th in the nation in field goal percentage (.618) if he averaged five field goals per game. He currently averages 4.5 per contest.

Washburn has scored 826 points in his 104 career games. With at least 17 games remaining, including the regular season and Pac-12 Tournament, Washburn must average 10.2 points per game for the remainder of the season to become the 35th Ute to hit the 1,000-point plateau.

He is currently averaging 10.4 points per game after scoring at a career-best clip of 11.4 points per contest last year. He has notched double-doubles in the last two games and scored in double figures seven of the last eight.

Loveridge Bounding up Pac-12 Leaderboard
Loveridge is currently one of the Pac-12's league leaders in rebounding at an average of 7.6 per contest, tops among the Utes. He also ranks among the top 10 in the league with an average of 2.8 offensive rebounds per game

Over the last four games, Loveridge is averaging over 16 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest for the Utes. He was one point shy of a double-double at ASU and then led the Utes in scoring with 17 at No. 3 Arizona.

The freshman poured in a career-best 24 points vs. Cal State Northridge. Prior to that performance his previous best was 22, which he combined with nine rebounds in the Utes' win over Wright State.

In the first meeting with SMU this year, Loveridge notched a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. He followed that outing by scoring 17 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out a career-best five assists in the victory at Texas State.

DuBois Getting it Done for Utes
DuBois, a senior transfer from Loyola Marymount, is currently the leading scorer for the Utes after scoring 20 or more in three games this season.

After his career-high, 25-point performance at SMU, he followed that up with a 21-point performance in a win at Texas State. He also led the Utes with 18 points in the win over Boise State.

DuBois has impressed in his first year with the club, averaging 13.2 ppg, 18th in the Pac-12. He also ranks fourth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio and fifth in total helpers (3.8 apg).

DuBois is also one of the conference's league leaders in three-point shooting percentage (.426), free-throw percentage (82.5) and minutes played (33.2)

Dynamic Dean
Junior Glen Dean scored double digits in four of Utah's first five games this season, including 13 against Central Michigan, and recently had a 10-point effort at BYU. He is currently averaging 8.5 points per game.

Dean ranks eighth in the conference in three-point field goal percentage at 42.1% and also ninth in the Pac-12, making 1.7 three-pointers per game.

He also ranks second on Utah's team in total assists, averaging almost three per contest.

Bachynski Beats Up Bengals
Sophomore Dallin Bachynski racked up 22 points and 16 rebounds against Idaho State for his second double-double in his first three games as a Ute. He also had one assist, one block and one steal while playing 32 minutes.

Bachynski became the first Utah player this year to score 20 or more points and is the first Ute to grab 15 or more rebounds in a game since Luke Nevill had 15 against San Diego State in the MWC Tournament championship game on Mar. 14, 2009.

Bachynski's 20-and-15 double-double was Utah's first since Nevill had 23 points and 15 boards against
Wyoming in the semifinals of the same tournament.

Bachynski led the squad or tied for the team-high rebound honors in three of the first five games.

Bigs on the Boards
Head coach Larry Krystkowiak would like Utah's big men to maintain a pace of approximately one rebound every four minutes. This space will be devoted to tracking that stat throughout the season.

Bachynski is currently averaging one rebound every 3.1 minutes and Washburn is averaging one every 3.4 minutes. Loveridge (4.1) is just off the pace.

Utah is 7-2 when it grabs more rebounds than its opponent, losing only to Cal State Northridge despite being +11 on the glass.

Huntsman Center History
The Runnin' Utes are 539-135 (.799) all-time in their current home, the Jon M. Huntsman Center, including a 7-2 mark this season. Utah has posted a winning record at the Huntsman Center in 41 of the 43 years of its existence.

Utah's benchmark 500th win in the 43-year old facility came on Dec. 6, 2008, as the Utes posted a 91-61 blowout of eventual Southeastern Conference champion LSU.

In conference home games over the last 17 years, Utah is 110-29 (.791). Utah got its first Pac-12 Conference victory in school history at home against Washington State, 62-60, in overtime.

Road Warriors
Utah is one of 15 schools among the six BCS Conferences to play at least three true road games during non-conference play this season. The others are Alabama, Clemson, Colorado, DePaul, Iowa State, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Rutgers, USC, Villanova, Virginia Tech. LSU was the only school to play three straight road non-conference games.

Utes on TV
Utah is 7-4 this season in televised contests. The Utes will play a minimum of 17 more live televised games this year, including every conference contest and each game played in the Pac-12 Tournament.

The Runnin' Utes will appear on the Pac-12 Network a total of 25 times in the regular season. Utah will also play on ESPNU twice and make one appearance on FSN.
