Utah Falls to Colorado, 53-41
Andre Roberson had 20 points and 11 rebounds - his third double-double this season against Utah - and Colorado pulled away in the second half to win 53-41 in the opening round of the Pac-12 tournament on Wednesday night.

Rick Majerus Tribute
Join the Runnin' Utes and the Majerus family for a special halftime tribute.  Coach Majerus' famous sweater will be retired into the rafters of the Jon M. Huntsman Center at halftime, and lucky fans will receive special autographed posters.

Utah vs. Colorado - Quick Hits
• Utah leads the Pac-12 and ranks 22nd nationally by limiting its opponents to 38.0 percent shooting from the field. The Utes also rank third in the league in opponents two-point field goal percentage (42.4%).

• Offensively, the Utes rank 17th nationally, tops in the Pac-12, in assisted basket percentage (63.0%) and are currently third in the league in assist to turnover ratio and fourth in three-point field goal percentage.

• After winning its first Pac-12 road game in program history at Washington, the Utes dropped two in a row at home to Cal and Stanford. Colorado won both its games last week against Cal and Stanford to get back to the .500 mark in league play.

• The Buffaloes have won six games against teams in the RPI Top-100 and boast three of the top 20 scorers in the Pac-12 as well as the league’s leading rebounder.

Utah Memorializes Majerus
The University of Utah will hold a halftime ceremony honoring the life and accomplishments of former head men’s basketball coach Rick Majerus, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 1.

Majerus coached the Runnin’ Utes from 1989-2004, leading them to the NCAA Championship game in 1998. In his 15 seasons, Utah earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament 10 times, making the Elite Eight in 1997 and the Sweet 16 in 1991 and 1996.

Majerus amassed a record of 323-95 and led the Utes to nine regular-season conference championships and three conference tournament crowns. He coached three All-Americans, including two-time winners Keith Van Horn (1996, ‘97) and Andre Miller (1998, ‘99), as well as three Academic All-Americans.

Last Time Out
Utah suffered its second loss in a row this evening, 87-56, to Stanford. Justin Seymour led the Utes with 14 points.

Seymour was the only player in double figures for Utah with Renan Lenz and Jarred DuBois each finishing with eight points apiece. Lenz also grabbed a career-high eight rebounds.

Stanford shot 50 percent from the floor and connected on 9-of-15 tries from beyond the arc. In their last six games, the Utes’ opponents are 47-of-108 from deep, 43.5 percent. The Cardinal were also a +16 on the glass which led to 21 points in the paint.

Washburn Working Way Up Charts
Washburn has notched double-doubles in three conference games so far, averaging 13.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game while shooting 53 percent from the field.

He currently ranks sixth in the league in rebounding, 13th in scoring, sixth in field-goal percentage and sixth in blocks during conference play. He has also scored in double figures during 12 of the last 14 contests.

Washburn has scored 898 points in his 110 career games. With at least 11 games remaining, including the regular season and Pac-12 Tournament, Washburn must average 9.3 points per game for the remainder of the season to become the 35th Ute to hit the 1,000-point plateau.

He is currently averaging 10.9 points per game after scoring at a career-best clip of 11.4 points per contest last year.

Loveridge Bounding up Pac-12 Leaderboard
Loveridge is currently one of the Pac-12’s league leaders in rebounding at an average of 7.1 per contest, tops among the Utes. He also ranks seventh in the league with an average of 2.7 offensive rebounds per game

He currently ranks as one of the league leaders in scoring at 12.1 points per game, minutes played (30.9) and free-throw percentage (77.0%)

The freshman poured in a career-best 24 points vs. Cal State Northridge. Prior to that performance his previous best was 22, which he combined with nine rebounds in the Utes’ win over Wright State.

Taylor Turning it Up
Brandon Taylor, a freshman scored in double figures for the third game in a row against Cal and was averaging 14.0 ppg during that span. The freshman also had a career-best four rebounds against the Golden Bears.

Taylor was also one assist shy of his career mark for assists with five. He had 11 assists against Cal and Washington after notching only eight prior to that point all season.

Taylor led all scorers with a career-high 19 points and six assists in the win over the previously-unbeaten Huskies in Seattle. The freshman also led the team in steals as the Runnin’ Utes captured their first road win since joining the Pac-12.

Prior to that, Taylor led Utah in scoring (13) and assists (3) at Washington State. He currently ranks third in the Pac-12 in three-point field goal percentage (.536).

DuBois Getting it Done for Utes
Jarred DuBois, a senior transfer from Loyola Marymount, is currently the leading scorer for the Utes after scoring 20 or more in three games this season.

DuBois has impressed in his first year with the club, averaging 11.8 ppg, 24th in the Pac-12. He also ranks fifth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio and ninth in total helpers (3.1 apg).

DuBois is also one of the Pac-12 league leaders in three-point shooting percentage (.397) and sixth in free-throw percentage (82.7)

Dynamic Dean
Dean scored double digits in Utah’s first four games this season, and is currently averaging 7.1 points per game after scoring 10 vs. Cal last week.  It was his sixth double-digit outing of the season and first since Dec. 8 at BYU.

Dean is one of the league leaders in three-pointers per game (1.47), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5:1) and three-point percentage (38.2).

Huntsman Center History
The Runnin’ Utes are 539-139 (.797) all-time in their current home, the Jon M. Huntsman Center, including a 7-6 mark this season. Utah has posted a winning record at the Huntsman Center in 41 of the 43 years of its existence.

In conference home games over the last 17 years, Utah is 110-30 (.791). Utah got its first Pac-12 Conference victory in school history at home against Washington State, 62-60, in overtime.

Utes on TV
Utah is 8-9 this season in televised contests and it will play all but three of their games on TV this season.

The Runnin’ Utes will appear on the Pac-12 Network a total of 23 times in the regular season. Utah will also play on ESPNU three times and make one appearance on FSN.
