Utah Basketball Earns 1,700th Win
The Utes are 15th all-time in NCAA history with 1,702 wins and rank 19th all-time with 27 trips to the NCAA Tournament.

Utah's 32 regular-season conference championships put it fifth among all Division I schools trailing Kansas, Kentucky, Penn and North Carolina

Bachynski Brothers do Battle
Dallin Bachynski and his brother Jordan, a senior at Arizona State, met twice last season on the hardwood and will play at least two more times during their collegiate careers.

After a year at Southern Utah in 2009-10, Dallin embarked on a two-year mission in Croatia that ended six months early when an undefined illness caused him to lose 20 pounds.

Upon his return to North America in the fall of 2011, Dallin got his release from Southern Utah and looked elsewhere for a roster spot. An SUU assistant provided a highlight tape, which Dallin's mother, Yolanda posted on YouTube.

Soon after Dallin and his father John drove to Orem to visit Dallin's sister, Jessica, a 6-1 forward at Utah Valley State. Along the way, they stopped at Utah to visit with coaches. Three days later, Dallin had an offer from the Utes.

This season, Jordan leads the league in blocks, ranks third in the Pac-12 in rebounding and field goal percentage.

Dallin is ninth in blocks and is coming off 12 points and nine rebounds against No. 4 Arizona.

History vs. Arizona State
The Utes lead the all-time series with Arizona State, 27-20 and have split their regular-season meetings the last two seasons with the home team winning each time.

In fact, the teams have split the last 12 meetings after Utah won six in a row from 1976-1981.

The Utes have won seven in a row against the Sun Devils in Salt Lake City with ASU's last win coming in 1975.

The last four meetings between the teams have been decided by a total of 15 points.

Jordan Loveridge, the team's second-leading scorer at 15.6 points per game, was held scoreless until 3:40 remained in regulation. His first points were crucial, though, as the Utes ripped off a 10-2 run to get back in the game.

Princeton Onwas chipped in with six points and Ahmad Fieldshad two key baskets down the stretch for the Utes.

Wright Having Quite a Debut
Utah's Delon Wright was named Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for play from Jan. 13-19.

In the win over USC earlier this year, Wright led the way with 22 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists. He followed that performance with 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists against the nationally-ranked Bruins.

Wright leads the league in steals with 3.1 per contest and also ranks among the top 15 in minutes played (1st), assists (3rd), assist/turnover ratio (4th), field goal percentage (4th), scoring (6th), blocks (6th) free throw percentage (8th) and rebounds (14th).

Wright joins Jordan Loveridge as Player of the Week selections this year for Utah, its first winners since joining the Pac-12 Conference in 2011. The duo is scoring 49 percent of Utah's points this season and grabbing 50 percent of the rebounds.

Utah finished 11-7 at home last season and has finished with a winning record in 28 of the 29 seasons played at the Jon M. Huntsman Center, the largest arena in the Pac-12. This season, the Utes are 16-2 at home

New Utah Basketball Facility
Official fundraising efforts for the new $36 million Jon M. and Karen Huntsman Basketball Center kicked off Nov. 25. Construction on the new 80,000-square-foot facility will get underway in the spring of 2014. Work is scheduled to be completed prior to the 2015-16 basketball season.

The project will include a new basketball practice and training facility for the men's and women's teams, as well as renovations to the main arena and strength and conditioning rooms for several other U. sports.

Besides the new basketball practice center, which will include two gymnasiums, a sports medicine center, film rooms, locker rooms and a strength and conditioning center, some $6 million will be used for arena improvements for lighting, sound and draping for other sports, as well as two grand entrances for a hall of fame and legacy hall.
