The Utes will play at San Diego State in the ESPN Tip-Off Marathon on Nov. 18
SALT LAKE CITY - Utah men's basketball will take part in the annual ESPN Tip-Off Marathon on Tues., Nov. 18 against San Diego State with the contest tipping off at 1 p.m. PT.
The seventh annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon – more than 24 hours of consecutive coverage to mark the start of the 2014-15 season over Monday, Nov. 17 and Tuesday, Nov. 18 – will feature 19 men’s and women’s college basketball games across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. The schedule includes 17 men’s games and two top-25 women’s matchups.
Utah and San Diego State both competed against one another in the Western Athletic Conference from 1978-99 and then in the Mountain West Conference from 1999-2011.
Utah leads the all-time series with the Aztecs, 53-18, and are 19-12 in San Diego. Despite those marks, the Utes have lost five in a row in this series and not picked up a win at Viejas Arena since 2006.
The Aztecs won the Mountain West Conference regular-season championship and reached the Sweet 16 last season.
The Marathon will include nine straight games tipping off every two hours beginning Monday with an ESPN2 tripleheader at 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., plus two games on ESPNU. ESPN’s schedule of five consecutive games starts at noon on Tuesday and concludes with the State Farm Champions Classic. ESPN2 will also televise a Tuesday primetime doubleheader at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
