Who said going back to Australia with the Utah Utes was going to be an easy task? Since Friday, July 27th we have been practicing in preparation for touring Australia, where we'll be competing in six games over nine days.

The practices so far have been quite intense and grueling, but already the team is beginning to bond. The new `up and down' playing style that the new coaching staff has implemented is proving to be very popular amongst the players.

At the moment I don't think many of the players are quite aware of what to expect from Australia, but I can assure you that they will be far from bored once they touch down in "Aussie Land." The itinerary is very full on and with six games in nine days, the entire team's reaction to mental adversity will be regularly tested.

For me, this is a great opportunity to both visit back home and also to give my fellow Australians a taste of what I get to experience each and every day whilst playing in another country. I am very excited to have the chance to play in front of my hometown of Rockhampton. I have been continually telling the team that they have never experienced anything like a bunch of crazy Australian fans all packed into what may seem like a tin shed, otherwise known as Hegvold Basketball Stadium in Rockhampton.

I feel that the 10 days of two-a-day practices have helped the Utes become better. Now all that stands in our way is a 21-hour plane ride and the Australian basketball leagues.
