First-year Utah graduate assistant offensive coach Sartaj Khan (pronounced sar tahj con) begins his third season with new Ute offensive coordinator Dave Christensen. Khan, who will help coach the Ute receivers, was a graduate assistant under Christensen at Wyoming in 2012 and 2013, first as an administrative assistant, followed by an offensive assistantship.

Last season, he helped coach honorable mention all-Mountain West receiver Robert Herron, who became a sixth-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

From 2010-11, Khan was as an assistant boys' basketball coach at Sheridan High School (Wyo.). He also helped coordinate the Sheridan High strength and conditioning program.

Khan earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from UNLV in 2010, where he was a program supervisor for the UNLV Student Recreation and Wellness Center and a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He also was an assistant head coach for the Nevada Youth Football League for two seasons.

The 26-year-old Sheridan, Wyo., native was born Nov. 4, 1987.
