UTAH: Named the Poinsettia Bowl MVP as a true freshman in 2009, Wynn would announce an early retirement from the sport on Sept. 10, 2012 after suffering his fourth shoulder injury in three years (all required surgery) ... was beginning his fourth season as the starter in 2012, but was only a junior in eligibility due to a medical extension from the NCAA ... finished his career with a 14-7 record ... played in 22 games and started the last 21... ranks eighth in school history in career passing yards (4,637) ... completed 60-percent of his pass attempts (381-of-632) ... one of 11 quarterbacks to pass for 4,000 yards at Utah ... 33 touchdown throws ranks sixth in school history ... 11 games with 200 or more passing yards (four were 300-yard games) ... in 2009, he became only the third true freshman to start at quarterback for Utah since the NCAA restored freshman eligibility in 1972 ... member of the 2009 signing class graduated from high school early and enrolled that spring ... received his bachelor's degree in economics in May of 2012.
