The overtime contest was the first in the 110-game history of the Utah/Utah State series. Utah snaps a 12-game winning streak in the series with the loss.

Jordan Wynn left the game with a left shoulder injury with 58 seconds remaining in the second quarter. X-rays were negative. Wynn was 6-for-11 for 47 yards passing.

Jon Hays saw his first playing time of the season, entering the game at quarterback with 58 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Hays was 12-for-26 for 154 yards and a touchdown.

Travis Wilson threw his first touchdown pass of the season, a 28-yard pass. He was 1-for-1 on the night and is 3-for-3 passing on the season.

Kenneth Scott had his first career touchdown reception in the third quarter. He made his second career TD catch in the fourth quarter. Scott had a career-high 82 yards receiving (three catches).

David Rolf had a career-high 46 yards receiving.

John White led Utah in rushing with 27 carries for 96 yards.

Dave Fagergren (nine tackles), Trevor Reilly (nine tackles), LT Filiaga (eight tackles) and Nate Fakahafua (six tackles) all had career highs for tackles in the game.

Coleman Petersen made field goals of 42 and 40 yards. Petersen is 6-for-12 from 40 yards and out in his career.

Sean Sellwood tied a school record with six punts of over 50 yards in the game. He has 44 punts of 50+ yards in his career, ranking him third all-time at Utah.

Utah State blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown. The last time a Utah opponent returned a blocked punt for a touchdown was in 2011 against Pittsburgh.

Vyncent Jones made his first career start on the offensive line.
